SLEEPING BUDDHA: A beautiful sleeping Buddha in Pai, Thailand, inspired this painting. The term Buddha literally means 'enlightened one' so I felt fine making a female version of the scene. Creating this image is part of my mission to create sacred visuals that represent women. We certainly suffer from a lack of inspiring female figures in the department of major world religions.
